Explore by Bike
Bikes are big in Tahoe. There are a ton of great mountain biking trails for those seeking a more adrenaline-filled adventure. The mountain trails are a great way to check out the amazing natural scenery. The Flume Trail has amazing views of Lake Tahoe from above for mountain bikers. For those looking for a more relaxing cruise, the South Lake Tahoe Bike Path is ten miles of paved trail. The path goes along the lake as well as through some great downtown locations.
Explore by Foot
There are a multitude of amazing hikes around the Lake Tahoe area. Check out the Skyline Trail at Heavenly Resort for great views of Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley. It’s a great hike to get the high altitude views without the all day effort. The Van Sickle Bi-State Park is another great place for easy to moderate trails with gorgeous scenery of the lake. Trails within the park connect with the larger and more famous Tahoe Rim Trail. For a more challenging hike, Mt. Tallac Trail is a 10.2 mile hike with a great high elevation view.
Explore by Water
Getting out on Lake Tahoe is probably the best way to explore what the area has to offer. The crystal clear water is famous around the world. There are so many ways to get out and explore by water. Whether it’s a relaxing paddle on a stand up paddle board, a kayaking journey, or motorized boats, there is something for everyone! Some of our favorite beaches include Pope Beach, Commons Beach, and Baldwin Beach.
